Govt Raises the Kamyab Jawan Program Loan Limit to Rs. 50 Million

The Federal Government has decided to make fundamental changes to the Kamyab Jawan Program (KJP) in order to increase the youth loan facility under the initiative to Rs. 50 million would be an engine for job creation, poverty reduction, and economic growth in the country.

This was stated by the Prime Minister’s Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) for Youth Affairs, Usman Dar. The government has also decided to speed up the distribution of the allocated Rs. 100 billion to young people for business and would consider an additional allocation of Rs. $100 billion will be paid out by 2023, Usman Dar added.

How can I check my kamyab Jawan program loan application status?

SAPM said that KJP is an umbrella for youth development programs that consists of three parts.

The first is employment and business opportunities for young people. The second part is training, which provides technical training and scholarships to young people, and introducing reforms in the TEVT sector to produce better and better educated young people. The third initiative is the participation of young people, including workshops, sport, and consultations on legislation that affects them.

Dar said the initiative’s first success was the establishment of the first National Youth Council, whose patron is Prime Minister Imran Khan, and which all provinces and genders, including transsexuals, attend to hear their voices on related issues.

Addressing the first E, which is employment, Dar said Prime Minister Khan launched the initiative in October 2019 where Rs. In the first phase, €100 billion was allocated to give 100,000 young people the opportunity to run their own businesses and create a million jobs.

At tier 1 the credit limit was Rs. 100,000 to Rs. 1 million, below level 2 the credit limit was above Rs. 1 million and up to Rs. 10 million, and below level 3 the credit limit was above Rs. 10 million and up to Rs. 25 million.

“So far 10,000 young people have benefited directly from the distribution of Rs. 8 billion, while a total of around 70,000 are employed [on this payout], “he added.

The SAPM regretted that the pandemic hit the industrial sector the most, with around 250 million people losing their jobs worldwide. The KJP also faced major challenges at the beginning.

The people who wanted to borrow from banks also slowed down and were unable to start as of October 2020.

He said that a meeting with the finance minister had taken place and the government had decided to make four changes to the program.

The first stage will contain Rs. Loan of 500,000 for microfinance that would include the distribution of funds in the village.

Dar said it was a brilliant project for agriculture, SMEs, service sectors, and manufacturing.

“We want to provide employment opportunities to 1 million young people through the initiative,” said Dar, adding that the choices were made with young people’s needs in mind.

In the second category, the amount was increased by Rs. 1 million to provide Rs. 2 million with no guarantee.

The amount in the third category was increased by Rs. 2 million to 25 million while Rs. 50 million funds would be disbursed among youth in the fourth category.
