Who’s The SNL Host Tonight, November 20?
Thanksgiving break is just around the corner, but Saturday Night Live will continue to work tonight. Who is hosting the new episode of SNL tonight?
Last week, The Harder They Fall star Jonathan Majors made his Saturday Night Live debut. The rising star has stood his ground alongside the show’s seasoned cast.
Another newcomer is now taking the stage at Studio 8H. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings star Simu Liu hosts today’s episode. He is accompanied by musical guest Saweetie.
Liu has been recognized for his roles on shows like Kim’s Convenience and Blood and Water. But things took things to a new level when he joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Shang-Chi earlier this year.
The actor’s performance received high marks from critics and assured Liu a long stint in the MCU.
Simu Liu is the new Marvel star to host Saturday Night Live
Simu Liu doesn’t just have in common with his SNL predecessor Jonathan Majors that he is the host for the first time. The older ones have also recently joined the MCU, first as The One Who Stays in Loki and then as Kang the Conqueror in 2023 Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
With the MCU expanding, it’s no wonder so many stars have also hosted Saturday Night Live. The list includes Scarlett Johansson, Paul Rudd, Chadwick Boseman, Benedict Cumberbatch, Brie Larson, and Chris Hemsworth.
These actors turned out to be some of the best Saturday Night Live hosts in recent memory. Much like joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Simu Liu faces a pretty high bar tonight as an SNL host. But given his performance in Shang-Chi, there is no reason to doubt that he will shine.
Saturday Night Live airs at 11:30 p.m. on NBC. The new episode can also be streamed on Peacock.
