Career
It was discovered through a travel service he founded in Norway that Zahoor had stolen tickets worth more than NOK 15 million in 2000.
In December 2000 he left the country and was arrested in London. He spent 20 days in detention before being released.
In 2003, Zahoor and New Zealand resident Shaun Gregory Morgan founded International Bank, a letterbox bank in Zurich, Switzerland. Zahoor was sentenced to a year in prison for aggravated embezzlement but was never put behind bars and was put on the most wanted list by Interpol in 2007.
The Swiss authorities then gave up their search for him. Morgan was sentenced to five years in prison for robbery. The Verdenser Gang claimed the two had scammed 27 out of more than 120 people.
Zahoor was allegedly involved in the Nordea scam that led to the theft of more than 63 million kronor from wealthy widow Randi Nilsen. The funds were transferred to Dubai via a Nordea bank branch in Oslo in 2010, where they are believed to have been under Zahoor’s control.
According to a 2015 article in the Norwegian newspaper Verdens Gang, Zahoor was involved in a $510 million energy deal between Ameri Group and the Ghanaian government.
The government was advised to renegotiate the deal after a report commissioned by Ghana’s energy minister revealed it was $150 million overvalued and possibly fraudulent.
Zahoor, Ameri’s former CEO, is said to have signed the deal as a director.
