Punjab Board introduces major changes to Matric and Intermediate improvement exams

The Punjab Boards Committee of Chairmen (PBCC) has approved major changes to the Improvement Examination Policy for Registered and Advanced Students.

The changes were originally proposed at a PBCC meeting last month and recently reported. These changes will apply from the next academic year, which starts in the next few weeks.

Matric and intermediate students have 4 opportunities to improve in each subject. You can take advantage of these opportunities within 3 years of completing Matric or Intermediate. Once the qualifications are improved, they will not be able to take advantage of the remaining opportunity, if any.

Matric and Inter students taking the advanced exams after 2 years have passed must submit an affidavit stating that they have not received a higher grade.

For students who want to improve their subjects, the top grade is Intermediate. Associate’s Degree and BS Degree are the highest qualifications for those wishing to advance in multiple subjects.

Please note that the changes only apply to students who took the half-year and Matric board exams in 2020 or later.

The number of attempts made to improve grades is also noted on the mark sheets and degrees of 10th and 12th grade students.
