HEC Invites Experts To Assess The Quality Of Research in Pakistan
The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has invited applications from Pakistani experts/reviewers to assess the quality of research under the UK Pakistan Education Gateway Program (PUKEGP).
HEC and the British Council have collaborated on this initiative, which aims to create and implement a strategic framework for research evaluation known as the Custom Research Excellence Framework (REF).
The main goal of REF includes improving research productivity, developing benchmarks for quality research, and effectively communicating impacts to stakeholders.
Here’s everything you need to know about HEC’s latest initiative.
HEC is looking for individuals who are able and willing to undertake assessments, are experienced assessors, or have worked on similar exercises in the UK known as Research Assessment Exercise (RAE)/REF.
What Are The Responsibilities/Duties?
The chosen ones:
- Serve as experts in the development of REF.
- Assisting HEC in designing, delivering, and evaluating presentations created for REF.
- Act as panel chairs/panel experts to review grant applications received in relation to the various calls.
Eligibility Criteria
The candidate must meet at least one of the eligibility criteria below:
- The applicant must be a member of the faculty of public/private universities in Pakistan.
- The applicant must be a member of another local research and development (R&D) organization/industry, think tank, etc.

- Applicants must also submit their updated CVs with the online application.
