Dino Tomassetti is suspected of having shot his parents in their sprawling Long Island mansion, waived his right to an extradition hearing in New Jersey, and is being sent back to New York this week to face charges.
Brooklyn-based Tomassetti made a brief virtual appearance Monday afternoon in New Jersey’s Bergen County Court, where he agreed to be sent direct to Nassau County Court for the case.

The East Williamsburg personal trainer has been held in Bergen County Jail since his local arrest on 25th December on a Nassau County arrest warrant.
Tomasetti was arrested in Garden State on Christmas Day for allegedly escaping the location of the shooting at his parents’ $3.2 million home in Tony Hewlett Harbor.
The police arrived at the villa around 10 a.m. That day, Vincenza Marsicano-Tomasetti, 64, was shot in the head and Rocco Tomasetti, 65, was shot in the back.
Officers tracked Dino and his 2017 white Cadillac Escalade with GPS and contacted Mahwah police for help when he arrived in the area hours later.
His mother and father were operated on for his injuries. The father who runs a construction empire would be tougher.
Dino has yet to be officially charged for the shooting. He appeared before Judge Mitchell Steinhart Monday and was represented by an attorney for the New Jersey Office of the Public Defender.
The Nassau County Police Department could not say exactly when the 5-foot 9,235-pound suspect would be returned to Long Island. The judge’s secretary said defendants would normally be transported within two days.
