Sui Northern Gas Unit Price in Pakistan

Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), a public company operating under the federal government in Pakistan, plays a crucial role in providing gas services to customers nationwide. However, the country faces a challenge as the demand for natural gas continues to rise while the available resources are depleting rapidly.

In response to this, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has recently announced an increase in sui gas bill unit price in Pakistan effective from November 1, 2023.

New Sui Gas Prices in Pakistan (Effective from November 1, 2023):

  • 25 cubic meters of gas per month: Increased from Rs. 200 to Rs. 300 per mmbtu.
  • 60 cubic meters of gas per month: Increased from Rs. 300 to Rs. 600 per mmbtu.
  • 100 cubic meters of gas per month: Increased from Rs. 400 to Rs. 1000 per mmbtu.
  • 150 cubic meters of gas per month: Increased from Rs. 600 to Rs. 1200 per mmbtu.
  • 200 cubic meters of gas per month: Increased from Rs. 800 to Rs. 1600 per mmbtu.
  • 300 cubic meters of gas per month: Increased from Rs. 1100 to Rs. 3000 per mmbtu.
  • 3100 to 4000 rupees per mmbtu have been fixed.

Sui Gas Rates for Different Sectors:

  • Ovens: Rs 600 per mmbtu.
  • Power Plants: Rs 1050 per mmbtu.
  • Cement Sector: Rs 4400 per mmbtu.
  • CNG Sector: Rs 3600 per mmbtu.
  • Export Industries: Rs 2100 per mmbtu.
  • Non-export Industries: Rs 2200 per mmbtu.

Despite the increase in gas rates, certain consumers with consumption ranging from 25 to 90 cubic meters remain unaffected. However, fixed charges for protected customers have been raised from Rs. 10 to Rs. 400.

Sui Gas 1 Unit Price in Karachi:

The October RLNG delivery price on the Sui Northern system was $13.7080 per mmbtu, with a distribution price of $14.7850 per mmbtu. In Karachi, the Sui Southern system recorded an RLNG price of $13.3454 per mmbtu, and the distribution cost was $15.1865 per mmbtu. Notably, Sui gas per unit price in Karachi remains comparatively lower than in Punjab.

Household Gas Cylinder Prices:

As of 2023, the cost of a household gas cylinder is Rs 4, and an 11.8 kg domestic cylinder is priced at Rs 1345. The official OGRA website, allows consumers to check petrol prices online. There is a proposed increase of 15% for the power industry and 12% for industrial captive power plants and CNG stations.

Sui Gas Bill Online:

To streamline billing processes, SNGPL has updated its billing system. Consumers can access and print Sui gas bills online through the official website. Duplicate bills can be downloaded in PDF format and submitted through various online platforms, including Jazz Cash, Easy Paisa, U Paisa, or any bank’s mobile application.

OGRA’s New Rates and Federal Government’s Role:
