Shawwal Moon Not Sighted in Pakistan, Eid ul Fitr 2023 To Be Celebrated On 22nd April

Moon Shawwal has not been sighted by the Ruet-e-Hilal Central Committee (RHC), which means that Eid-ul-Fitr 2023 in Pakistan will be celebrated on April 22, 2023 (Saturday).

The Ruet-e-Hilal Central Committee meeting was chaired by Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad in Islamabad and attended by representatives from the Department of Meteorology and the Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO).

Meanwhile, area committees met at their designated locations across the country to review Shawwal Crescent.

However, Shawwal’s moon has not been sighted by either the Ruet-e-Hilal Central Committee or the Zone Committees, meaning that Eid-ul-Fitr 2023 will be celebrated on April 22, 2023 (Saturday).

Earlier, Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council (RHRC) Secretary-General Khalid Aijaz said the chance of seeing the moon on April 20 is very low and Ramadan is expected to last 30 days this year.

The federal government has announced five-day public holidays for Eid-ul-Fitr 2023 from April 21-25, while Pakistan Railways has introduced special trains for people’s convenience.
