Pakistanis Who Have Cycled For Umrah Arrive in The UAE

A group of 25 Pakistani cyclists arrived in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates (UAE) en route to Mecca for the Umrah. The cyclists, also members of the Cross Route Club, have been on the road for 15 days and have covered around 2,500 kilometers so far.

The group, led by Mukaram Tareen, started their journey in Lahore and entered Iran via the Taftan border. He then traveled to Bandar Abbas in Iran before reaching Sharjah by ferry.

Upon arrival in Sharjah, the group was greeted by locals and expatriate Pakistanis who offered them fruit, tea, and snacks. The 25 cyclists will now spend four days in Sharjah before continuing on to the Saudi Arabian border via Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

The group originally planned the trip for 2019, but it was delayed due to coronavirus restrictions. He started preparing for the trip six months ago and obtained all the necessary documents for crossing the border from the government.

All drivers also trained physically and mentally during this time to prepare for the challenge of being on the road for two months.

The estimated total distance is 14,000 kilometers. The group averages almost 400 km per day and aims to reach its next stage before sunset.
