Career
Michael Healy-Rae entered politics as a member of Kerry County Council in 1999, later winning re-election in 2004. His political journey also included a victory in the reality TV show “Celebrities Go Wild” in 2007. However, in 2011, a voting scandal emerged involving premium-rate calls made at the Irish taxpayer’s expense. Despite denying involvement, Healy-Rae pledged to repay the funds.
