The Islamabad Electricity Supply Company (IESCO) oversees the distribution of electricity in the regions encompassing Rawalpindi, Chakwal, Attock, Jhelum, and Islamabad. It provides a comprehensive fee structure for acquiring new electricity connections, with prices starting from Rs8,500.

When erecting a new property within Islamabad or any area under IESCO’s jurisdiction, adhering to the application process outlined by IESCO is crucial for obtaining a new single-phase connection.

New Meter Connection Procedure:

Step 1: Obtain five copies of the Application and Agreement (A&A) form, along with the Abridged Conditions of Supply, free of charge from the following locations:

  • Subdivisional Offices
  • Customer Service Centers

Step 2: Complete all five copies of the A&A form and submit them, along with one copy of the Abridged Conditions of Supply, and the following supporting documents:

  • Proof of property ownership (Registry)
  • Electricity bill of any neighboring premises
  • Wiring Test Report for all connections except domestic ones
  • An affidavit confirming no previous connection existed at the premises and a commitment to settle WAPDA/IESCO dues for any pre-existing connections later discovered
  • Owner’s National Identity Card (photocopy)
  • Photocopy of Witness’s National Identity Card
  • “No Objection Certificate” from the landlord if the applicant is a tenant, along with the landlord’s proof of ownership and the aforementioned affidavit

The process typically takes approximately 35 days in urban areas and 45 days in rural areas.

The meter fee for a new electricity connection for a single phase varies based on the length of the service line. The minimum cost for a new meter is Rs8,500 if the service line’s length is up to 20 meters. Below is the complete fee structure:
