First Casino in Dubai, UAE To Start in 2026
Las Vegas based Wynn Resorts, constructor of the first casino in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), selected ALEC Engineering and Contracting as the prime contractor for the development work at Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah.
This was announced by Marjan Island in cooperation with RAK Hospitality and Wynn Resorts on Wednesday. ALEC, a subsidiary of Investment Corporation of Dubai (ICD), will oversee the construction of the casino project. During this time, Bauer International will take on the pile driving and clearing work.
The Wynn-Marjan project, scheduled to start in 2026, will include an 18,500-square-foot casino, according to Wynn Resorts chief executive Craig Billings. The emirate is currently drafting gambling regulations for the casino based on Singapore and US standards.
According to Arabian Business, Wynn Resorts has registered trademarks called “Arabian Strip” and “Marjan Strip”.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Marjan Abdulla Abdooli said he is committed to meeting investor and stakeholder expectations.
The appointment of ALEC and Bauer International will ensure the timely completion of Wynn Resort and further boost the tourism market in Ras Al Khaimah.
The Tallest Hotel in The World in Dubai, UAE
The world’s tallest hotel, Ciel, will open in the first quarter of 2024 in Dubai, known for its skyscrapers and luxurious rooms. Ciel’s developer, The First Group, has announced that the 82-story building will be its tallest and strongest project to date.
Rob Burns, CEO of The First Group, expressed his excitement at the addition of a skyscraper to the Dubai skyline. He said that despite the pandemic, work is progressing rapidly and the tower will be ready in 2024.
