As per the media reports, Facebook users in the US can view the Instagram version of TikTok-like shorts on the company’s main app. If Facebook accepts you in the test, you will notice the clips in your news and groups.

The project is an extension of the project that Facebook is already running in Canada, India and Mexico.

You can record reels directly from the Facebook application and view them on the platform. Instagram users can also post the movies to Facebook, similar to Stories.

Regardless of what you think, you can expect trimmed videos to stick around, and Facebook isn’t the only company looking to include the format in its main app.

Last month, YouTube made short film creation tools available to users in 100 countries and began paying creators out of a $100M fund set up to support the format.
