Danny Woodcox is a man from Dubuque who was arrested Tuesday morning in Davenport after allegedly stealing a gun worth around 540 USD.
Woodcox stole the gun from the victim’s home, then fired two shots into the air with his own gun, as per an affidavit.

Danny Woodcox Arrested For Gun Theft
At around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, Davenport area police responded to St. Division’s 1500 block and found Woodcox escaping on foot.
Police found two guns on him, one of which was recently stolen. The serial number of the other gun has been crossed out, so police believe it was stolen from another location.
Taken into Custody
Investigation reports the man, identified as Danny Woodcox, of Dubuque, 27, was at the home of a local resident when he allegedly stole a gun from his home and started shooting in the air with another gun.
He was then seen by witnesses escaping the area on foot, and the police began a manhunt.
Police in an identified patrol car pulled up in front of him, but Woodcox reportedly continued to flee.
During the chase, Woodcox disposed of both guns in a local backyard before police arrested and ultimately arrested him.
One of the weapons was the one allegedly stolen from the victim and the other was a revolver which police say was stolen elsewhere because of its serial numbers.
Woodcox has been charged with fourth-degree theft, reckless use of a firearm, tampering with a firearm, double criminal in possession of a firearm, and pending arrest warrants.
No bodily injury or material damage was reported.
The incident is still under investigation.
