Candy Selena Marban threw an injured puppy into the sea. She was arrested for a serious crime of animal cruelty, police said in a town on an island in Georgia.
Tybee Island Police said Marban was arrested on Tuesday for animal cruelty. She was arrested a day after a research poster was posted more than 2,000 times on social media in less than 24 hours, police said in a statement.

Police said the woman was seen by witnesses who threw the dog into the water on 12th September.
When police responded, they said the dog had been injured the week before and had no money to pay for treatment. Before the police allowed him to leave, the police rescued the boy and convicted Marban of animal cruelty.
Officers took the injured dog, who had a leg injury, to emergency care, but the injuries were too severe and the dog had to be euthanized.
Due to the seriousness of the injuries and the fact that the dog had to be euthanized, investigators obtained an arrest warrant against Marban for the crime, AP reported.
Arrested
The Tybee Island Police Station held more than 2,000 shares in less than a day after it was established on Monday. Marban was arrested on Tuesday.
Police said he told officers his dog had been injured a week earlier and had no money for treatment.
Authorities cited Marban for violating the city’s animal cruelty ordinance and allowing him to leave the country, police said.
“The original call was for him to throw the dog in the water,” Emory Randolph told Tybee Island Police.
“Some witnesses were very upset about this.”
