Last month, robotics student Ken Pillonel managed to develop the world’s first USB-C iPhone himself.

Managed to mount a USB-C port on an original iPhone X and it worked perfectly for both charging and transferring.

His iPhone X USB C was auctioned on eBay this week. After 116 bids, the auction finally ended last night, and the phone sold for 86,001 USD. It would be an amazing Rs. 15.11 million when switching to PKR.

The highest bid was $85,000 last week, but it jumped to $86,001 a few days ago. There was also a $1 million fraudulent offer, but it was removed in less than an hour. Some other offers were also dropped, and the phone eventually sold for $86,001.

Pillonel is also a YouTuber and explains how he created the iPhone X USB C in this video.

He explains that the first step was to make sure that all of the electronic components involved were working properly. He then reconstructed Apple’s C94 Lightning connector and created his own circuit board based on a USB-C socket.

After the process was completed, the porting on the phone worked perfectly.

However, Pillonel warns that the owner of the iPhone USB C should reset, update, or delete the device. You shouldn’t mess around with the internals either, as it could be potentially risky.
