WhatsApp has resumed work on version 2.0 of multi-device support.

Facebook‘s own messaging app will soon allow users to add the iPad as a new paired device, popular tech news site reported on Twitter.

A multi-device connection can only have one and four other subordinate devices.

WhatsApp also plans to add Android tablets to multiple devices on WhatsApp for Android. The feature is currently under development and will be available in a future update.

When the multi-device feature was announced, many users wondered if the feature would replace WhatsApp Web.

The company had said that the WhatsApp web was an important platform for users, so it would not be replaced.

Until now, WhatsApp was only available on one device at a time. WhatsApp has been working on a multi-device feature since 2019.
