Twitter Indirectly Digs Into Facebook

Twitter recently criticized the social media app Facebook after it changed its name and renamed the parent organization, Meta Inc.

The giant conglomerate was previously known as Facebook Inc. The renaming of Facebook sparked an avalanche of memes on various social networks. Platforms worldwide.

While content creators were creating memes (funny content) about Facebook’s latest move, the microblogging site, Twitter was happy to post a sarcastic tweet that read, “BIG NEWS lol jk still Twitter.”

The post suggests the company is about to make an important announcement as it jokes on Facebook and tells Twitter that (the company’s name) is still Twitter.

Facebook was recently renamed Meta during its most recent Connect event. During the announcement, the leading social media company said that Meta will focus solely on expanding the Metaverse and helping people connect and grow their business.

Also note that following the rebranding announcement, the company was heavily criticized for ridiculing people via Facebook; Some also claimed the idea was introduced to divert the ongoing controversy between Facebook and Haugen and to avoid the bad image.

The affiliated companies Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp will keep their names under the rebranding, as per the AFP.
