Tourists From The UAE Face Fines Of Up To AED 300 After The Visa Expires

Tourists staying in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) after the visa has expired must pay a fine of up to AED 300 to obtain an exit/exit permit from airports or immigration offices at the border.

Regarding the sanction, a Customer Service Representative (CSR) from Dubai’s Directorate-General for Residence and Foreign Relations (DDRFA) confirmed the news, saying that long-term stay tourists in the country must obtain the aforementioned permits.

Meanwhile, travel agencies in the United Arab Emirates revealed that this process had started a few days ago and that several of their long-stay clients in the Emirates had to pay AED 200-300 for the permits as a penalty.

Robin Pathrose, sales manager for Kingsland Travel and Tourism, noted that tourists are forced to leave the country as soon as they receive exit permits.

In addition, as travel agencies confirmed, some travelers were not aware of exit permits. They only discovered the permits after contacting their travel agents to pay the fines.
