Tokyo Olympics Games: Pakistani Weightlifter Talha Talib Missed Bronze Medal

Pakistani weightlifter Talha Talib lost just two kilograms less than ever at the Tokyo Olympics Games 2020 when he lifted a total of 320 kilograms on Sunday.

Talha, who competed in the men’s 67kg weightlifting, led the race for some time before being outscored by athletes from China, Colombia, and Italy in the final attempts.

The 21-year-old powerlifter, the first from Pakistan in 44 years, competed without a coach but showed his courage.

The fourth-placed South Korean competitor lifted 321 kilograms, while Italian Marko Zanni won bronze with a total weight of 322 kilograms: 145 in the snatch and 177 in the pull.

Colombian Luis Javier Mosquera won silver with a total weight of 331 kilograms, while Chinese Chen Lijun won gold with a total weight of 332 kilograms.

Talha was a wonderful boy during his trip to the Olympics, as the boy faced various obstacles that would have shaken any normal soul. He initially missed the Asian Junior Championships in Korea.

Then weightlifting for the South Asian Games was removed from the Olympic rankings. And finally, Talha had to miss international competitions for lack of money.
