Tim Schofield is an undercover police officer from Bath, Somerset. He previously worked for Avon and Somerset Police. Tim was convicted of 11 s*x crimes between 2016 and 2019, including one against a minor.
Tim was fired from his job when found guilty. He was sentenced to 12 years in prison by Bristol Crown Court on Friday. After the verdict, Tim’s brother Phillip Schofield said, “As far as I’m concerned, I don’t have a brother anymore.”
Tim was convicted of three counts of sexual conduct in the presence of a child and three counts of forcing the youth to watch the crime. He was also convicted of sexual conduct with a minor and three counts of forcing a child to do so.

In his sentencing, Judge Cutts said Schofield exploited the victim’s naivety for his own sexual desires and that “it was wrong in every way that you acted the way you did.”
He felt compelled to do as he pleased, stuck and powerless to escape. For many years he didn’t tell anyone because he thought he couldn’t. You stole his chance to be the happy young man he should have been.
After Tim’s arrest, the victim said, “Before Tim was arrested, I felt like I had no freedom.”
“I was often overwhelmed with worry, tension, and terror. I was caught in a vicious cycle of worry and anxiety over the repeated abuse. I wasn’t feeling well until Tim was arrested. It wasn’t until Tim was arrested that I felt free, free to be myself, happy and calm.”
