Cleveland Police confirm that Tamara McLoyd is charged with murder in the death of 25-year-old officer Shane Bartek.

According to court files, the surveillance recordings examined by the investigators showed that the suspect Bartek was “ambushed and robbed” in the parking lot of an apartment building.

A Cleveland City Court document states that McLoyd “intentionally caused the death of Shane Bartek in the armed robbery of his vehicle.”
Bartek was shot dead in a car theft on New Year’s Eve on the city’s West Side, according to a press release from Cleveland Police.

According to an arrest warrant, McLoyd was involved in an armed robbery at Happy’s Pizza on Detroit Avenue in which two employees who closed the store were flogged and attacked.
A man was taken into custody Friday night after leading multiple police stations in a chase through communities on the East Side, the police press release said.
