Richmond County deputies this week rescued a woman locked naked in a dog crate in a fecal-filled mobile home in Augusta, authorities said. Several people have been arrested in connection with the plan.
The woman was spotted in the home when a former resident went to get some belongings she had left behind. “As he entered the room, he observed an unidentified woman with light brown skin who was naked, badly beaten, and currently confined in a dog crate,” officials wrote in an incident report.
The woman in the cage asked the man for help. The victim, described by her alleged captors as a sex slave, was found by Richmond County Sheriff’s deputies at approximately 10:20 p.m. on the 2200 block of Nellie Drive Tuesday, 12 o’clock reported on your page.
The victim was in a dog crate filled with human excrement. Several people were arrested, one of whom told officers the woman allegedly “stole a bunch of stuff” so she would “be my sex slave and I’ll pimp her until she’s gone”.
An incident report obtained by 12 On Your Side states: “As he entered the room, he observed an unidentified woman with light tan skin who was naked, badly beaten, and currently confined in a dog crate.”
Shawna Powell (32), Anjelika Figueroa (29), DeMichael Dawson (24), Savannah Piazzi (18), and Dawson Weston (19) were arrested in connection with the crime.
