During his keynote address at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2022, Samsung Electronics made a commitment to building a green and sustainable future. As part of Samsung’s “Together for Tomorrow” vision, the company has produced chips that meet the Carbon Trust Standard and have reduced CO2 emissions by around 700,000 tons.

Samsung’s visual display business aims to use 30 times more recycled plastics than by 2021. Samsung also plans to expand the use of recycled materials for mobile products and home appliances over the next 3 years.

By 2025, Samsung plans to use almost no standby power for all of its televisions and phone chargers.

This year, Samsung plans to expand the use of recycled materials to include the inner packaging of cardboard boxes. The company is also promising similar materials for device packaging in the future.

Samsung has been actively recycling e-waste since 2009, one of the biggest challenges facing the technology industry. In 2022, Samsung tried to recycle 5 million tons.
