Realme Could Make A Phone With Camera Under The Screen

We had heard of Realme’s first under-display (UD) camera phone in a long time. In fact, Realme VP Xu Qi Chase teased the feature on Weibo with a full-screen phone that didn’t have any nicks, holes, or even a pop-up selfie camera.

Realme director Madhav Sheth also said pop-up selfie cameras are unlikely to return.

With that in mind, we now have a recently discovered Realme design that shows a smartphone without a visible selfie camera. This design, along with the company’s earlier advancements, suggests that a UD camera phone is about to hit the market.

The patent doesn’t say the final design in any way, but the camera setup is no different from a typical Realme phone. This is a vertical triple camera setup with an LED flash on the side.

Some more interesting details can be seen here. The screen is curved at the edges just like the back. Some antenna lines are also marked at the top and bottom, suggesting a metal frame.

There is no physical fingerprint sensor visible anywhere, which means it probably has a UD sensor. These are all clear signs of a premium phone.

While we don’t know the specs, we can at least hope that a Realme UD camera phone will arrive soon.
