NED University Karachi to Announce Admissions Policy Without any Weightage of Intermediate Results

The NED University of Engineering and Technology has decided to announce the admissions for its Undergraduate program 2021 based on the results of matric (10th class) in case the intermediate board exams do not take place in July.

According to the details, the decision was taken at a recent NED University Academic Council meeting to discuss recent coronavirus restrictions in the province.

It was decided that applicants would be granted admission based on their matric (10th) results if the intermediate exams do not take place in July.

However, all approvals granted in this situation are tentative and approval is subject to the results issued by the Intermediate Committee (BIEK).

The weightage of the matric results will be reduced by 50% to 30% with the remainder of the weight based on the NED entry test.

The Vice-Chancellor of NED University, Dr. Sarosh Hashmat Lodhi, announced that three different admission criteria for NED University Admission 2021, namely:

  • Based on intermediate results when board exams are completed in July.
  • Based on the results of the matric (10th class) in the event that the inter exams are not held before July.
  • In the event that the Pakistan Engineering Council and Higher Education Commission issue a guideline, it is taken into account.

All the other institutions and universities affiliated with the NED University like Usman Institute of Technology, Thar campus and etc. will follow the same admissions policy.
