NADRA Extends CNIC Renewal Last Date For Flood Victims

The National Registration and Database Authority (NADRA) on Friday announced an extension of the last date for the renewal of Computerized National Identity Cards (CNIC) in the country’s flood-hit areas.

The database authority issued a statement saying that CNIC ID Cards that expire in May 2022 can be extended until the end of December this year.

The last date extension only applies to Balochistan, Sukkur, and Dera Ghazi Khan (DG Khan). Residents of these areas can renew their CNIC before December 31, 2022.

Earlier, on September 1, Home Minister Rana Sanaullah launched the NADRA Biker Service, a door-to-door service for candidates to renew and change their CNIC.

The Home Secretary also visited the agency’s headquarters, where NADRA Chairman Muhammad Tariq Malik briefed him on activities in flood-ravaged Sindh, Balochistan, and South Punjab.

The President informed the Minister that floods and monsoon episodes have damaged the NADRA registration centers which are completely submerged and assured them that the material has been saved. He also told the minister about the damaged homes of 150 NADRA employees in the flooded areas.
