METI Japan Internship Program 2023 Announced For Pakistani Students
The Japanese government, in cooperation with the Pakistan Prime Minister Youth Program, has launched a paid internship program for Pakistani students.
According to the data, the number of Japanese companies looking to recruit global talent has increased, with small companies in particular facing challenges due to their limited experience in working with foreign professionals and lack of professional networks.

To solve this problem, the “METI Japan Internship Program” was created. This program supports the development of Japanese small and medium-sized enterprises abroad by recruiting foreign university students and international talent. Internships give participants the opportunity to learn about job responsibilities in Japan.

Types Of Internships
This year Japan is offering three types of internships:
Commuter Courses (Course A/A2)
With this type of internship, you travel every day from your home to the company where you will work. You have the opportunity to connect personally with your colleagues and supervisors, which promotes effective communication.
Online Internships (B/B2 Courses)
This type of internship allows you to gain experience from the comfort of your own home or elsewhere. It’s a great option for companies looking to expand globally as it allows for location-specific surveys.
This is also convenient for foreigners as they can attend the internship without having to go through an immigration process.
Visiting Internships (Course C)
This course is aimed at participants who come from abroad. You live in accommodation close to the internship location and travel daily. This is a unique opportunity to gain work experience in Japan while learning about the Japanese culture and way of life.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant must be fluent in Japanese or English.
- The candidate must be 20 years old as of 31st August 2023 and must not be older than 40 years.

Application Schedule
Summer Internship: From mid-May 2023 to the end of June.
Winter Internship: Mid-August 2023 to the end of September.
