A brazen benefits scammer Mercedes Bradley spent money on breast surgery, extra cosmetic surgery, and a Peloton exercise bike while cheating the Government out of £10,000 and has been sentenced to 150 hours of unpaid labor.
Mercedes Bradley, a former Virgin Atlantic flight attendant, was 31 when she applied for Universal Credit benefits when she had £48,000 in a hidden bank account where she received payments from “ex-boyfriends”, one of whom sent her more than £30,000 .

After DWP investigators located Bradley and ended her spending spree, she admitted she hadn’t declared any capital. Bradley hails from Ironworks Close in Cinderford, Gloucestershire.
She confessed to dishonestly failing to notify the Department for Works and Pensions (DWP) of any capital gains or investments that may have affected her Universal Credit eligibility between 26th March 2020 and 28th August 2021.
According to DWP, Bradley took stolen taxpayer money to support himself while spending tens of thousands of pounds on cosmetic surgery, including a breast lift and high-quality dental work.

The DWP Financial Investigation Unit team interviewed Bradley after receiving a tip.
However, she claimed the transfers, totaling £47,780, were made by various ex-boyfriends.
Defense attorney Karl Williams said: “When he separated from his partner, he made a legitimate welfare claim. He moved from Swindon where his family lived in the Cinderford area.”
“It had a significant impact on his mental health. Luckily, two of his former employees were able to help him financially, giving him around £50,000. This affected your benefit entitlement.”
