Mahek Bukhari, a TikTok star, has admitted to telling “a lot of lies” after the accident that killed two men.
The influencer, who is charged with the murders of Saqib Hussain and Mohammed Hashim Ijazuddin along with seven other defendants, including her mother Ansreen, told the jury today that she misled the police after the accident because she was responsible for the ashamed of her mother’s affair with Saqib.

The court heard the Bukhari’s had traveled to Leicester from Stoke-on-Trent on the evening of February 10 and met the six other defendants. The group drove in Mahek’s Audi TT and Seat Leon to the meeting point at a Tesco car park in the Hamilton area.
Prosecutors allege that the two cars then chased the Skoda Fabia and the Seat drove the vehicle off the road, killing the two men.

The lawsuit has already heard that Mahek’s mother, Ansreen Bukhari, has set up an appointment with Saqib at the Tesco store in Hamilton to pay him £2,000 on the condition that he doesn’t publish explicit photos of her, LeicestershireLive reports. But prosecutors say they had no intention of handing over any money and have recruited Rekan Karwan and the other defendants to “jump” Saqib and take his phone.
However, Saqib and Hashim did not stop after parking their Skoda in the Tesco car park and drove away, pursued by the defendants in an Audi and a Seat from before the fatal accident. Mahek was called on the witness stand today to testify about the exposure of her mother’s affair and the accident itself.
Mahek told the court that he first contacted Saqib when he was promoting food on Instagram with his mother and cousins at a restaurant in Syon Lounge. Believing Saqib to be one of her supporters and having just arrived, she then settled the remainder of her bill when it was £80 more than the amount the restaurant had agreed.
The influencer then claimed Saqib created a fake pornographic image of her that “was sent around the world, but she didn’t tell her mother about the incident.” Then she noticed him commenting on her live videos that her mother was having an affair.
She said: “I spoke to my mum about it. He initially said it didn’t happen and denied it. I had sexual images of her that I showed her and then she admitted it to me.”
“She told me about the relationship and I wanted to end it and move on with my life. He had made a mistake before and felt very bad about it. It broke me to know because he loves my dad.”
