Jay Kyle Jenkins was found dead with his school friend Rachel Curtis in the River Tawe in Swansea on Christmas Day after their car crashed into the water.
The family of the second victim of a river accident on Christmas Day paid their respects. People close to Jenkins described him as “our sweet, sweet boy” and posted a photo.

The 36-year-old man was found with his girlfriend Rachel Curtis, also 36, in the River Tawe in Swansea around 3:05 am. Sunday.
After reports of a black Mini submerged in water, emergency services were dispatched to the scene. The bodies were found nearby.
South Wales Police confirmed yesterday that the driver was Ms. Curtis, from the Borough of Bonyaen, and the passenger was Mr. Jenkins.

Her family said St Thomas-area electrician Mr. Jenkins and Ms. Curtis had been friends since school. Mom, Mrs. Curtis, has previously been described as a “funny, smart, unique person.”
Her family said: “Rachel was a fun, smart, and unique person. She was very talented and creative in nail art. He worked at Liberty Stadium teaching therapeutic art and nail art.”
“She was an elite self-defense and security instructor, trained as a bodyguard and gatekeeper. He helped raise funds for the Jack Lewis Foundation, a suicide prevention charity.”
“Rachel also raised money for Matthews House, a charity for the homeless, and has been involved in youth projects that help girls. Rachel will be sorely missed by everyone who knew her, especially her 14-year-old son. get a wrecked car out of the river.”
Police Investigation Report
A police cordon remained in place for most of the day to allow the salvage to be completed. Police said they are continuing their investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
Officials are asking anyone who saw the car enter the river, or who has CCTV or dashcam footage that may have captured the incident, to contact them in any of the following ways and provide the incident number 2200429694 to be specified.
They also want to speak to anyone who saw or spoke to Rachel or Jay before the incident to get in touch.
