How To Open Asaan Mobile Account Without Internet?
In Pakistan, SBP has launched a new system for customers to open branchless bank accounts called “SBP Assan Mobile Account”. Launched on Monday, the scheme allows Pakistani citizens to open an account at any bank using their cellphone or smartphone.
As expressed by the SBP, the program is a sort of national financial inclusion strategy that focuses on facilitating the remote opening of accounts in branchless banking. The special feature of the new system is that even untrained mobile phone users without internet service can open their own bank accounts.
What Do I Have To Do In Order To Open Asaan Mobile Account?
According to SBP, any Pakistani citizen who holds a CNIC ID Card can open and operate an “Asaan mobile account”. In addition, you must also have a cell phone SIM card registered in your name in order to create an account. And even for a normal cell phone user, the procedure is very simple.
What’s The Asaan Account Opening Procedure And Their Use?
- To open the Asaan Account you need to dial 2262 from your mobile phone.
- This code must begin with an asterisk (*) followed by a hash (#).
- Initially, the Asaan Mobile Account Program covers 13 banks. You can choose any bank of your choice to open an account.
- After opening the Asaan Account by verifying the CNIC ID Card number via your mobile phone, you can go to any branchless bank agent and fund the account.
Once the funds are deposited, you can use them however you like by dialing the SSD code from your mobile phone.
Which Companies Are Involved in the Development of Asaan Mobile Account?
The Assan mobile account creation process was developed in cooperation with the State Bank of Pakistan, Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA), National Registry and Database Authority, 13-Source Branchless Banking, mobile operators, and a virtual money transfer portal.

Who Can Benefit From Asaan Mobile Account Internet Banking?
This account is useful for low-income groups who don’t have internet access and people can send or receive their small amounts of money via remote banking. It is also a very useful initiative for women in society.
Opening the program on Monday, SBP Governor Raza Baqir said the number of biometrically verified mobile phone subscribers in Pakistan reached 187 million. Out of 187 million, 81 million mobile phone users have no access to the internet.
He said the main target of the Asaan Mobile Account Program is those customers and it is part of the national financial inclusion strategy. The SBP estimates that 50 million Pakistanis will enter the banking sector through this program.
