How Many Public Holidays Do Pakistanis Have On Eid Ul Adha?

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted that the moon Zil Hajj is likely to be sighted on June 19th, meaning Eidul Adha is expected to fall on the 29th in Pakistan.

The Ruet-e-Hilal committee, meeting on June 19, will make a final announcement on the moon sighting.

Most parts of the southern country were expecting cloudy weather when the moon was sighted in the last month of the Islamic year, the Department of Meteorology reveals, adding that the moon Zill Hajj will be visible for more than a month, an hour after sunset on 19th June. The next month starts on June 20th.

As people inquire about various public holidays on the eve of Eid, it is recalled that the Cabinet Department has already issued a notice detailing the public holidays and optional holidays for this year.

According to the notice, there will be a total of three public holidays on the Eidul Adha account on June 29th, June 30th, and July 1st. However, the dates depend on the predicted moon sighting. The federal government will issue a separate notice for the holiday after the decision of the lunar observation committee.
