Govt Issues New Passport Delivery Deadlines

DG Immigration and Passports recently issued an official notice announcing changes to passport delivery times. According to the notice, the delivery times of the normal, urgent, and expedited passport services have been shortened to 10 days, 4 days, and 2 days, respectively.

Previous delivery times for regular, expedited, and expedited passport services were 21 days, 7 days, and 4 days, respectively.

The reduction in delivery times should bring significant relief to passport applicants who previously faced delays in receiving their passports.

The decision to shorten delivery times is said to have been made due to the recent increase in the number of passport applicants.

DG Immigration and Passports has received a large number of passport applications and the new delivery times aim to improve the efficiency of the passport issuing system and reduce the backlog of applications.

The new delivery times will also help people who urgently need a passport, such as those who need to travel for medical or work reasons.

The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports has advised applicants to follow the prescribed procedures and provide all required documents to ensure a smooth and hassle-free application process.
