Govt is Silently Extending The Processing Time For All Passports
Passport applicants face lengthy delays in obtaining this important travel document.
According to the sources, the increase in the number of passport applications has resulted in more than double the delay in the delivery time of passports.
Sources say that normal and urgent passport delivery times have been extended to 7 days and 21 days due to the significant increase in passport applications. While the delivery time for an expedited passport has been increased to 4 days.
In addition, the series of messages sent to applicants’ mobile phones regarding the various stages of passport processing was also delayed.
Two messages were automatically generated via the text messaging system on the candidates’ mobile phones. The first text message is related to the completion of the processing of the passport at the time of collection and the receipt to be printed.
The second message relates to the printing of the passport and the submission date at the relevant office. Due to the delay in the news, information about the processing of their passports was withheld from the applicants.
