Education Ministers Announce Long Winter Break After Next Week’s Meeting

At the end of the winter break, Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood has convened an Inter-Provincial Virtual Conference of Education Ministers (IPEMC) for December 13th.

As per the information, the education ministers of all federated entities will deliberate on the closure of schools and universities across the country from December 15, 2021, to January 16, 2022.

On the other hand, the governments of Sindh and Balochistan have already announced winter holidays in schools and universities without consulting the IPEMC.

The Sindh Education and Literacy Department (SELD) announced the closure of educational institutions from December 20, 2021, to January 1, 2021, while the Balochistan Secondary Education Department (BSED) announced the closure of educational institutions in the summer region from December 22 to 31, 2021 December communicated. 2021 and from December 15, 2021, to February 28, 2022, in the winter zone.

Last month, the Punjab government decided to close schools and universities in Lahore on Mondays and Saturdays, and on Sundays on the weekly public holidays.
