Dubai’s Low-income Citizens Get A Big Eid Surprise From The Crown Prince

The Crown Prince of Dubai and the head of the Dubai Executive Council, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, said around 426 low-income citizens were left defaulting on the balance of their home loans.

The announcement made a few days before Eid Al-Fitr, must be received with great appreciation by the people of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), especially the citizens of Dubai who will benefit from it.

Speaking on Twitter, Sheikh Hamdan said AED 146 million worth of loans will be settled, bringing significant relief to low-income groups and needy families in the emirate.

Furthermore, he commented that they keep launching these kinds of initiatives to improve the living standards of all Dubai citizens.

Sheikh Hamdan also confirmed that the Supreme Committee on Development and Citizens’ Affairs has been tasked with overseeing the implementation of this decision.

AED 2.7 Billion in Housing Assistance For Emiratis

Earlier, the newly appointed Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, gave the green light to provide AED2.74 billion ($746 million) in housing benefits to 1,800 Abu Dhabi citizens.

The announcement was made on behalf of the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The support includes loan waivers for low-income retirees and families of deceased mortgagors.

According to the data, Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra would receive the amount, which is intended to cover loans for the construction, demolition, reconstruction, maintenance and expansion of housing.
