Dubai Opens A New Tourist Spot Where it Rains All Year Round

According to the Khaleej Times, Dubai has just inaugurated a new air-conditioned road in the world’s islands.

The kilometer-long road, which was developed in cooperation with Europe’s leading research institute, the Fraunhofer Institute, is located in the tourist center of the French Riviera.

With a temperature of 27°C, wind speeds of 5 km/h and humidity of 60%, the road mimics the summer climate of southern France.

The air-conditioned street is close to the French bistro, La Brasserie, where visitors can enjoy a coffee or a meal. This European inspired venue offers a place for people looking for a break from the hot Dubai summer.

Visiting requires booking a meal or hotel stay and traveling by private yacht to the resort, a very popular destination that requires advance reservations.

The complex consists of four five-star hotels, each named after seaside resorts such as Monaco, Nice, Cannes and Saint-Tropez. Only Hotel Monaco is open and features French touches throughout.

Dubai’s Historic Schools Reopen

Two of Dubai’s most historic schools, the Rashid School for Boys (RSB) and the Latifa School for Girls (LSG), are set to reopen in autumn 2024. The two schools, which are also attended by the royal family, have been closed since 2020 for renovation reasons.

The operating company of both schools, the Rashid and Latifa School Establishment (RLSE), will continue to offer segregated education for both sexes from Elementary 1 to Year 13.
