Dubai Court Fines Husband For Secretly Filming Videos Of His Wife Naked
The Dubai Misdemeanor Court has fined a Briton AED5,000 for filming videos and taking photos of his wife using surveillance cameras installed in their home.
The 38-year-old Briton filmed his wife naked or changing clothes at their home in Jumeirah Village Circle (JVC) without her consent.
According to the details, the woman told him to stop filming her if she found out, but he went ahead and forced the woman to file a complaint with the police in April last year.
During the inquest, she said her husband told her he was monitoring her maid’s behavior, but when she turned off the surveillance cameras, he became uneasy, although she assured him she was still at home and surveillance cameras weren’t necessary.
She then discovered numerous pictures and videos of herself on her husband’s smartphone and learned that he had been filming her naked and partially clothed for many years.
The man was later tried in Dubai Misdemeanors Court and found guilty of invading his wife’s privacy. The authorities confiscated his mobile phone and the court ordered him to pay the above fine. The man also appealed the conviction.
