Closure of Schools, Colleges and Universities Extends Till May 23 in Pakistan NCOC

Colleges in Punjab to reopen classes from 31st May except for two districts

The Punjab Department of Higher Education (HED) has issued a warning for the return of all private and state universities in the province from May 31st (Monday) with strict execution of the Covid-19 SOPs.

HED Secretary Nadeem Mehboob said in a proclamation on Saturday that all private and public universities in the entire province except Khanewal and Rahim Yar Khan (RYK) would be reopened as both districts have a ratio of high corona positivity.

The colleges and universities in the two districts will remain closed until further orders are received. The specialists also coordinated all educators and other staff to get the Covid vaccination by June 5th.

Then the students in Rawalpindi protested against the government’s decision to conduct board exams without any physical classes.

The protesting students said educational institutions across the country have been closed due to the restrictions imposed by Covid. They asked the specialists to take the online exams as they also mostly go to addresses.

Punjab’s Education Minister Murad Raas had previously announced that schools would resume from June 7th.

The provincial government had set itself the goal of immunizing public and private educators before schools returned.

Murad Raas spoke to the media after the inauguration of an instructor-only vaccination center on Wahdat Road in Lahore.

More than 21 districts of K-P have effectively resumed educational exercises following a decline in the ratio of Covid-19 cases in those districts.
