Abby Zwerner’s Teacher Falls Seriously ill After Being Shot

A 25-year-old heroine who was calling her children out of harm’s way was shot in the chest on purpose by a six-year-old boy, according to the first-grade teacher.

According to DailyMail.com, Abby Zwerner, a preschool teacher at Richneck Elementary School in Newport News, Virginia, was shot and killed around 2 p.m. on Friday in his class.

She was then operated on in a hospital. Zwerner was seriously injured, authorities said, and there was no further news.

Prior to the shooting of Zwerner of Williamsburg, the teenager, who has not been publicly identified, was involved in an “argument,” according to police.

Sebastian Gonzalez-Hernandez, Zwerner’s father, described Zwerner’s disinterest to DailyMail.com shortly after confirming his identity.

He said he “yelled at his kids to run away” after the student fired a single bullet.

“Even after he was shot, he thought about the safety of his children,” González-Hernández said.

After the student fired a single shot, father Sebastián González-Hernández, who confirmed Zwerner’s name to DailyMail.com, claimed that “she yelled at her children to run away”.

“My son didn’t see what happened, he heard the shot and turned to see Miss Zwerner lying on the ground,” she told DailyMail.com on Friday.

“She is an amazing teacher, very dedicated. My son absolutely loves her and we are devastated by what happened. We are all thinking of her and hoping she gets better soon.”

Police determined that a six-year-old boy fired the gruesome shot but are still investigating how the first-grader came into possession of a firearm.

“This was not an accidental shooting,” Newport News chief Steve Drew said at a news conference on Friday.

“It was in a classroom that an argument broke out. We’ve never had a situation where someone prevented a school shooting. We had a situation at a certain place where a shot was fired.”

It was not clear if the student arrested today was the same one who brought “shining gold balls” to school last week, according to the grandmother of one of the students, who spoke to DailyMail.com.

The boy is said to have “brought bullets to school last week and claimed he was bringing his gun,” according to the grandmother, who asked not to be named.

She said on Facebook: “A parent reported to the school that he didn’t do anything, now look.”

She told DailyMail.com that a boy outside had warned her that a student was bringing flashy gold bullets to school and was considering bringing a gun. The parents were notified by the student, who then notified the school.

The school recently informed parents that the boy’s parents claimed the object was a Nerf ball and that Nerf balls are not shiny or gold.

She wasn’t sure if the boy who was supposed to have delivered the ammunition was the same boy.

“If we sense a threat or a problem, we conduct random metal detections on those days,” Parker said Friday.

It’s unclear if the school improved testing in response to the previous week’s ball complaint.

“Today our students had a lesson on gun violence,” Parker said.

“We must keep guns away from our youth.”

One of the student’s British parents, who currently resides in the United States as her husband is in the military, is urging authorities to take action on the city’s gun problem.

“Guns are the biggest problem in this country,” he told WTKR.

“Why is there a seven-year-old with a frigging gun… How does a seven-year-old get a gun?”

“I’m only here because my husband is a soldier. Otherwise, I would not have decided to go to this country.”

After 2 p.m., in which a six-year-old boy was accused of intentionally shooting his teacher during an “argument,” large groups of parents gathered outside Richneck Elementary School to await news.

To focus on the “emotional health of our staff and students,” Parker said the school will be closed on Monday.

Police say the event is no longer a cause for concern and that it is a one-off incident.

A six-year-old boy told the Daily Press the shooter was a schoolmate.

The six-year-old girl who witnessed the shooting claimed one of her classmates shot the instructor “on purpose” causing the governor to fall to the ground.

The mother of a fourth grader said she received a text message from the school telling her a shooting had taken place and the suspect had been taken into custody.
