The Sindh government declared winter vacations for schools and colleges on Thursday. According to the Sindh Department of Education, all educational institutions will be closed from December 22 to December 31.
In adherence to the decisions made in the Steering Committee’s meeting, both private and government educational establishments, including universities, colleges, and schools in the province, are scheduled to resume classes on January 1, 2024.
The announcement of the winter break aligns with the decisions taken in the Steering Committee’s meeting, and it is anticipated that Punjab, KP, Balochistan, and GB will also officially announce winter vacations following a similar schedule in the coming days.

Sindh Schools Winter Holidays 2023
The weather in Sindh and other regions during December and January is characterized by cold temperatures, prompting the decision to implement winter holidays.
In line with the updated academic calendar, the academic year for schools is set to commence on April 15, 2024, while colleges will begin their academic activities on August 1, 2024. Matric exams for the year 2024 are scheduled for the first week of May, with intermediate exams slated for the last week of May.
