Why He Was Arrested?

Jordan’s legal troubles began when he was arrested in New Jersey after a woman, Mischele Lewis, uncovered his true identity and his history of bigamy. She reported him to the police, resulting in his arrest during a pre-organized sting operation. Prior to this, Jordan had faced legal consequences in the UK.

In November 2005, he was arrested in a police sting operation near Oxford, leading to his imprisonment for bigamy, failure to register his location as required by sex offenders, unlawful possession of a stun gun, and various dishonesty offenses.

Sentenced

During his sentencing in the UK, Judge Thomas Corrie described him as a “con man, a convicted pedophile, and a bigamist,” highlighting his exploitation of vulnerable women, both financially and emotionally. Jordan spent two-and-a-half years in a UK prison before being deported to the United States, where he resumed his deceptive activities.

William Allen Jordan Bigamist Victims

William Allen Jordan posed as a CIA agent to cover up his multiple marriages, relationships, and children. Alongside bigamy, he defrauded women of money and had previous convictions related to sex offenses.

He married Julie Cunningham in 1992 and, a decade later, Mary Turner Thomson, both of whom were unaware of his double life. He also had children with his first wife’s nanny, resulting in a total of 13 children with six different women.

Jordan went to great lengths to deceive his partners, producing counterfeit documents as proof of his CIA job. He used CIA web addresses, displayed passes to British RAF bases, and even sent emails from an address registered at the deputy prime minister’s office.

In reality, he had access to these documents due to his work as an IT contractor at a government department.

Furthermore, after his arrest, Jordan pleaded guilty to two counts of failing to register his address, a legal requirement stemming from his 1997 conviction for three indecent assaults on a girl under the age of 13.

Mary Turner Thomson, one of Jordan’s victims, described him as a “very clever predator and a sociopath” and believed that he would likely portray his time in jail as “an undercover mission” connected to his work.

ITVX documentary The Other Mrs Jordan

“The Other Mrs. Jordan – Catching the Ultimate Conman” is a recently aired three-part series on ITVX that sheds light on the astonishing deceptions of William Allen Jordan, who posed as a CIA agent to maintain multiple secret relationships and financially exploit his wives.

Following her tumultuous relationship with William Allen Jordan, she penned her initial book, “The Other Mrs. Jordan,” and subsequently released an updated version, “The Bigamist,” which incorporated accounts of additional victims and their children that came to light after the first book’s publication.

In her current capacity, Mary dedicates herself to supporting individuals who have experienced abuse. She provides assistance through her writing, coaching, and public speaking engagements, empowering survivors to overcome their ordeals.

After William’s sentencing in 2006, Mary expressed relief, stating, “I’m glad it’s over. I’m glad the judge recognized him for who he is. I hope that if there are any other of his victims out there, they too will find freedom through this legal resolution.”
