Shadab Khan, Pakistan’s assistant white-ball captain, wants Indian batsman Virat Kohli to win a century at the forthcoming Asian Cup 2022, but not against India’s arch-rivals Pakistan.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of the Asian Cup 2022 in UAE, Shadab said Kohli is a legend who is still an excellent player.

Furthermore, the Islamabad United skipper admitted he hasn’t seen any change in Kohli’s game and would like to see him play longer innings in the cup.

Discussing the highly-anticipated Pakistan-India meeting on August 28 (Sunday), Shadab made it clear that last year’s win over India is now history, adding that the team approaches the upcoming game with optimism and will perform brilliantly.

He further noted that injured players Shaheen Shah Afridi and Muhammad Wasim Jr. are missing and stated that all Pakistani bowlers are extremely talented and the team has full confidence in the other bowlers as well.

He named the medium-speed pitcher Hasan Ali as a game-winner, who will also prove himself in the next game. He said the team hasn’t seen the field yet so can’t comment on the terms.

He added: “We all got here with some effort. We know all the players from the other teams and learn from each other’s experiences.”

He concluded by saying that Pakistan vs India is a difficult game and one always remembers the winning team.
