Pakistan received its first batch of 1.2 million doses of COVID-19 Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine through the COVAX program on May 8.

Vaccination Process in Punjab Continues After Scarcity For Several Days

The vaccination process in the main cities of Punjab has been continued with a delay of several days due to the scarcity of COVID-19 vaccines.

As per the Lahore deputy commissioner, the Sinovac and Sinopharm vaccines are already available in the centers, but those who need the AstraZeneca vaccine should wait longer. The government received a new shipment of Sinovac vaccine from China, which helped restart the vaccination process in Punjab districts, including Bahawalpur and Multan.

The mass vaccination center of the Karachi Expo Center is not yet fully operational. Meanwhile, Pakistan will receive 2-3 million doses of the Chinese vaccine next week, followed by a shipment of slices of coronavirus vaccine.
