UAE Issues An Important Message To The Citizens Of Canada

The Embassy of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Canada has issued an emergency appeal to the country’s citizens, asking them to stay safe from the apocalyptic bushfires.

Taking to social media, the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates urged citizens to avoid outdoor activities due to the wildfires that have deteriorated air quality in the country.

The embassy has provided an emergency contact number 613 565 8822 for people to use in case of unfortunate events.

Thousands of people across Canada have been evacuated from their homes as firefighters continue to control wildfires that have devastated nearly 9.4 million hectares of land.

Several images were shared on social media showing Montreal, Ottawa, and Toronto blanketed in thick orange smoke, giving the impression of an apocalyptic scene from a movie.

The smoke even hit New York and Washington D.C. hundreds of miles from the Canada-US border where wildfires have been raging.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams said, “From the darkness over Yankee Stadium to the smoky haze that obscures our horizon, we can see it, we can smell it, and we feel it.” And that was alarming and worrying.

Meanwhile, an associate professor at McGill University’s School of Population and Global Health noted that pollution levels due to the wildfires have increased by three to four times normal.

On Wednesday, Canada’s government confirmed more than 400 wildfires were burning across the country, with 239 declared “out of control”.
