The Excise and Taxation Department of Punjab is responsible for collecting fees associated with the transfer of vehicle ownership in Lahore and other cities across the province following resale transactions.

Transfer Fee of Vehicle in Punjab:

It is imperative for all citizens to register used vehicles under their names upon purchasing them from the open market to steer clear of any potential legal entanglements.

Individuals are mandated to submit an application at the nearest excise office for the transfer of vehicle ownership. Alongside the requisite documents, applicants are required to deposit a specific amount corresponding to the vehicle’s engine capacity for the transfer process.

Fee Structure for Vehicle Ownership Transfer in Lahore:

The fee structure for transferring vehicle ownership remains consistent across all cities in Punjab, including Lahore.

For vehicles with engine capacities up to 1000cc, the transfer fee is set at Rs2,500. Vehicles ranging from 1001cc to 1800cc incur a transfer fee of Rs5,000, while those exceeding 1800cc require a payment of Rs10,000 to the excise department.

Commercial vehicles, on the other hand, are subject to a transfer fee of Rs5,000.

Given that the Suzuki Alto falls within the category of vehicles with engine capacities below 1000cc, individuals seeking a change in ownership will be required to pay a transfer fee of Rs2,500.
