US prosecutors have leveled charges against Takeshi Ebisawa, a 60-year-old individual purportedly linked to the Japanese Yakuza mafia, accusing him of participating in a conspiracy to traffic nuclear materials. Allegedly, Ebisawa and an accomplice, both Japanese nationals, engaged in the trafficking of nuclear materials, including uranium and weapons-grade plutonium, from Burma to various destinations.
Described as a prominent figure within the Japanese organized crime syndicate, Ebisawa stands accused of attempting to traffic weapons-grade nuclear materials from Burma to other countries.
