Students set the trend on Twitter to resign Shafqat Mahmood

Students and social activists have launched an online campaign. calling for Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mehmood to resign because of his failure; Postpone the Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) exam.

Grade O and A students used Twitter with a #DesignShafqatMahmood trend. They seek grades based on the teachers’ assessment and the complete cancellation of the exam.

Legal activist Jibran Nasir also made a statement in support of the students. said the students had protested for weeks; He also petitioned all the higher courts, but no one listened to them.

He thanked Mr. Mehmood for dropping the exams. However, he criticized the minister’s inability to convince Cambridge Assessment International Education to evaluate teachers.

He said students would be left behind for six months if they had to take tests in October and November and not advance to the next grade.

#Pakistani students

He also tweeted, “If #Pakistani and @ Shafqat_Mahmood students are not offered #SAGs, they will miss an entire session and lose 6 months. If @ImranKhanPTI falls short of all international students, he’ll have to fire the Federal Minister of Education. for his monumental folly for not canceling exams in time ”.

The minister had previously announced that there would be no exams in the country until June 15 amid an increase in coronavirus cases and deaths.

He also announced the postponement of Level O and A exams from last week and said that the exams will now take place in the October through November cycle.

In addition to adding non-canceled A2 exams for those students who want to show up to apply to foreign universities.

The minister also tweeted that the decision had been made to address “student and parent health concerns … all exams canceled until June 15 and may go further depending on the spread of the disease”.

He said the Cambridge exams had been postponed to October for all classes, with the only exception being for those A2 students “who are now required to take the exam“.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Private School Association also opposed the government’s decision to cancel all exams until Eidal Fitr.

APPSA President Kashif Mirza said the government needed to fully implement the SOPs but did not.

He said canceling exams would have a drastic impact on students’ future. You would lose six to seven months advancing to the next grade.

CLOSE PUNJAB SCHOOLS

Punjab School Education Department (SED) announced Tuesday; Closure of all public and private schools in the province as far as Eidul Fitr due to the increase in coronavirus cases.

Education Minister Murad Raas tweeted; “All public and private schools in Punjab will be closed from April 29, 2021, until Eid due to Covid-19 conditions. Without exceptions.”
