Steven Arthur Martis is an Arizona man convicted of threatening to kill Nancy Pelosi. A jury convicted Martis on Thursday of threatening to assassinate President Nancy Pelosi, federal officials said.

Steven Arthur Martis For Threatening Nancy Pelosi Sentenced
In a January voicemail message to Pelosi’s Washington, D.C. office, Martis said, “I’m going to kill you,” the Department of Justice revealed on Friday. Authorities said Martis left another threatening voicemail message saying: “You are dead.”
Martis, a 77-year-old man from Bullhead City, will be sentenced on 25th January for communicating an interstate threat, the Justice Department said.
As per the Arizona attorney’s office, the two calls in Pelosi, Calif., Came after the FBI alerted Martis of previous similar calls.

“This case is an important reminder that while the First Amendment protects our right to free speech, which is one of our most precious individual rights, the United States Attorney General accepts threats to kill or injure another person through a phone call or some other form of very seriously interstate communication,” Acting US Attorney Glenn B. McCormick said in a statement on Friday.
